Unfortunately WebSense has been blocking my site due to a plugin problem with my WordPress theme. So, I have not been able to access my blog while in the NBED network. I hope to have this sorted out by next week. Check back soon.

Today was mainly taken up by our orientation at Barnhill Middle School. Students were met by the Barnhill Peer Helpers and given a great presentation on what they can expect next year. Students were broken into small groups and given a tour of the school and even an ice cream treat at the end.

Sorry that the site has been updated the past several days. I’ve been unable to access it during school hours due to a technical issue with the province’s server. However, things should be back to normal soon.

I came across a site called Wordle. This site takes texts you give it and creates a word art cloud using. The highest frequency words are larger and the other words are sized based on how often they appear in the given text. I tried this out by taking all the Grade 5 blurbs for the Year Book and merging them into one piece of text. This is what I got ….
